Off Limits is the story of two girls at the same prep school. Both are completely different, yet both draw you in so that you want to learn more about them, their history and their secrets. Renee Pace's Nitty Gritty series deals with serious teen issues and the harsh realities that young adults must deal with day to day. Off Limits really gets you to look beyond the surface and not judge those around you. Everyone has a story to tell, and Pace gives us two well thought out characters with page-turning secrets. I had a hard time putting this one down until I knew what the secrets were and how Lindsay and Megan would be able to deal with them. I highly recommend this realistic tale of teen life.

I loved this book. A sequel to Off Leash but with a new cast of characters, Off Limits tells the story of a rich girl (Lyndsay), considered to have a perfect life but who is actually deeply abused, who is saved by another girl (Megan) who thinks she is a loser but who has really just had a hard start to life - a poor family, an absent dad, a brother who seems lost to gang life and a mom who is dying. Both girls learn the truth about each other and grow to beleive in themselves as they realize that nothing is ever easy. The book touched me - I felt especially drawn to Megan. Her story of poverty and loss, yet with a core of strength and growth made me hope for her. Renee Pace is an author that can really touch me as a reader!

After reading Off Leash, I was really looking forward to the next in the series and Renee Pace doesn't disappoint. With characters that are so true to life, Off Limits really pulled me in. I was there living every moment with Lindsay and rooting for her all the way. Hard hitting, emotional and well written, I highly recommend this story!
