Rendezvous With Destiny
By Dustin Thompson
In light of President Ronald Regan's recent 100th birthday, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, his wife Callista Gingrich, and film maker David N. Bossie have created a unique collection of dynamic photographs providing readers with an inspiring look into the life and legacy of one of the world's greatest leaders. Inspired by their film Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous With Destiny, the authors present a plethora of powerful photographs illustrating Reagan's momentous life journey before, during, and after his time served as the 40th President of the United States. From rare photos of Regan's childhood to his last days battling Alzheimer's at Rancho del Cielo, Rendezvous With Destiny encompasses the chapters or Reagan's life and incorporates his journey to the presidency, his battle to save the economy, and his inspirational victories over the Soviet Union and Communism. With captions and quotes from Reagan's closest friends, colleagues, and the President himself, each photograph speaks volumes to not only the most significant moments in Regan's life, but also the instances in which he helped shape the course of the entire world. The book also provides readers with a behind the scenes view of the filming of Rendezvous With Destiny. Overall, the authors do an exceptional job capturing Ronald Reagan as a person, a husband, a professional, a president, and most importantly, a man who remained true to his principles, inspired his country through selfless dedication, and made a profound impact on the entire world. After reading Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous With Destiny, readers will understand the magnitude of Reagan's life and find renewed inspiration from the President's beliefs, actions, accomplishments, and way of life.

Great Pictures!
By William Wallace
Great pictures of one of the greatest leaders of all time, including a few from before his time as President and several from his two terms in office. Also a few behind the scenes shots from the filming of "Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny" at the Reagan Ranch, Pointe du Hoc, France, and Krakow, Poland.

A man and a President we need to remember and teach the rising generation about.
By Craig Matteson
More than a thousand books have been written about Ronald Reagan and many more will be. However, right now we are celebrating his one hundredth birthday. There are many still alive who worked with him and millions of us who remember his Presidency. It is up to us to keep the legacy and truth about what he accomplished living in the hearts and minds of the coming generations. Heaven knows the media and our public schools are doing all they can to distort what he did and twist his values.
Newt Gingrich, his wife Callista, and film maker David Bossie have done a documentary film they call "Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny" and this book is part of that project. This is a picture book of Reagan's life and is pided into his life before becoming President, his two terms in office, and his farewell. There is also a section of photos on the making of the film.
Each of the pictures not only has a caption, but a quote from Reagan, someone who knew him, or an apt observation about him. This would be an ideal book to flip through with someone of the younger generations to help them learn and appreciate what a great President Reagan was. I am so glad the selection here includes an emphasis on the close working relationship Reagan had with Pope John Paul II and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and the pressure they brought to bear on the USSR. This is a story the Progressives try desperately to not talk about and when forced to, they misrepresent reality tremendously. Those of us who lived through the Cold War need to keep the flame of truth alive.
The pictures are clear and most are in color. Obviously, the early years are in black and white. The book is long enough to give a nice feel for what the life of Reagan was about and short enough to actually use in sharing your memories of Reagan with young people, friends, and relatives who weren't paying much attention during the 1980s for whatever reason.
A useful book.
